In my blog post, I'm going to discuss how people blog for money.
By today, blogging has already been a major issue in new media. Therefore, many advertisers is moving away from posting their advertisements on websites and heading towards blogs.
Blogging has been a trend throughout the years. It was reported that on March 2008, 184 million people "have started a blog". Although we do not have the figures for how many blogs are maintained, we know for sure that there is a very large number of bloggers around the world.
There are many different advertisers online which anyone can find them through search engines. For example, Google has its own advertisement named "adsense", while there are also other companies like payperpost, cleverads.
I'm going to focus on one company that is significant in the Asia market, "Nuffnang". Nuffnang is Asia first advertising company and their advertisers includes companies like Nokia, Nike etc.
How do you earn through Nuffnang? One have to situate Nuffnang ads in his/her blogs, and Nuffnang would pay them either through the unique visitors the blog have or the number of clicks done to the ads.
On earning $50, one can choose to cash out the money. There are certainly many people who earn through this method. On the sidebar would be an example of a nuffnang ad, feel free to click it!
Anyway, do you all think that it is easy to earn just by blogging?

I think its a very neat incentive that companies provide for people to use their Blogsite to blog and comment. At the end of the day both parties stand to gain and the consumer would feel that blogging didn't waste the individual's time. Another website that's interesting and provides rewards for posting reviews is yebber. It is based in singapore and has many reviewers.

Blogging for money. It is very interesting that how people actually come up with all these blogshops to earn a profit for themselves. It is just like normal shops where you order your products and sell. But it is through new media.
ReplyDeleteI do not think that earning through blogging is easy. I personally have a nuffnang ad on my blog and our earnings is based on how many visitors we have. For a normal blogger,we will not earn much. I think we can much much more by working part-time. So unless you're xiaxue, you can't really depend on blogging for living.
ReplyDeleteI have heard about blogging for money before and I think that it isnt really that easy to earn money by blogging.
ReplyDeleteLike what Haziqah said, it is much more worth it to actually go and work part-time than earning here.
True enough, it's no easy money mainly because there is no stability in the income.
ReplyDeleteYou may not even earn enough to pay for your utility bills, much less your room/house rent. [insert insane property prices here]
To be successful in this blogging trade, one needs a lot of commitment to the blog. Posts need to have substance, relevance & caters to the masses so as to gain visitors or what I term blog-traffic. Only a handful get away with blogging affluence, thank their lucky stars. You know a few names already.
Hahas, I should read your blogs first and put this stuff in my blog. I have no idea about this till I came here. Right, whatever.
ReplyDeleteThis method of earning money is not very stable, as it can only earn you enough pocket money unless yours is a popular blog where there are hundreds of viewers everyday.
The law of God never change, money are never easy to earn.
I don't think that it is a good ways to earn money through blogging, because what people come back for is actually the content you write which makes people to look at your blog. Although it is good way to earn money, if your content is helping you earn money, i think can earn a living out of it. Because most of these depends on your fame on the internet, because of what you write earns yourself fame, and fame itself actually earns you money in this case because people want real content. Content generates more fame, as they attract supporters of these content which can in turn become money assets!
ReplyDeleteYes, my classmate is one example of bloggers who blog for money ;D she had tons of ads in her blog. nuffang, etc.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in any way of earning money through online. I've heard of many sites paying u just for doing simple tasks. Where got such thing as free lunch in this world? The only way to earn money is to get off ur couch and start working/ look for jobs.
ReplyDeleteWell, earning online is just a small money. But working in real world is better and get good pay. If want to earn it online you should have a background check before engaged it. As for working part-time is just depends how well you can commit yourself to earn.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for the piece of advice you all gave, I personally think that there are still many aspects in earning online like blogshops, etc.
ReplyDeleteDo share more with us how advertisers are using blogs to advertise. Blog ads make for one way of doing this. Do also share with us how some of the blog ads work - you mention nuffnang - what's your personal experience with it?
ReplyDeleteI do have this friend who sells clothes through blogging. And this another friend of mine who loves to buy dresses from one of this kind of blog. As for me, I am a bit careful in not buying this stuff from the web.

In this age, blogging has become almost a necessity between youths. I believe online is a good opportunity for youths to earn money. They can also through this have experience and money.
ReplyDeleteHaving a blog to earn money isn't a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteThe important thing is to keep it as a secondary focus and keep the posting as the primary focus.
